My Pianos
I have 2 pianos that I use to play on the streets of New York City.
My main piano is a 88 key black Yamaha P Series from the 60’s. I bought it off a Russian man in Coney Island one rainy night in March for $600. I thought it was a good deal and it was in pretty good condition. But I thought wrong. This piano has a problem with the action that makes it very stiff and resistant. I hope to get a good 88 key piano one day. For now, I’ll deal with it.
My other piano is very special. It is a 65 key Wissner Piano from the 1940’s. Wissner was a small piano company in New York City and they didnt build many pianos. The pianos they did make were very well built. This was called an apartment size piano because of its small size. The people I bought it from painted it white and used it as a nice piece of furniture. It was in terrible shape when I bought it and I had to put some money into it to bring it back to decent shape. I probably shouldnt have bought this one because its costed me more than $1000 to bring it back to good shape. Nonetheless, shes a beauty. Her name is Pearl.
