Day 31- Daily Log

May 3, 2011

Its been exactly a month since I left New York and this trip has been out of this world. In terms of expenses/income, I’m still way below my expectations. My goal is to make at least $300 a week and I only met that goal once during the time I was in Washington D.C. I’m choosing to use the time I’m in NOLA to make up for the other weeks. Jazzfest is here and there are tons of people roaming the French Quarters streets. I will have to strategically place my piano in places that will allow me to make enough money this week. I’m hoping to play near the Jazzfest location to grab some of the people coming in, and then moving over to the French Quarters which is where its is busiest.

One of the hardest parts about busking here is that there are tons of musicians that are trying to do the same thing I’m doing. This is what makes finding a spot much more difficult. When all the good spots are taken, I have to search everywhere for a new place.

I decided to take these last 2 days as relaxation days. It ended up raining today, which is another reason why. But I have been rushing this past month to get to NOLA by Jazzfest and now that I’m here I can actually take a break. It’s been a rigorous last month and I got so much done. I cant wait until you see some of the footage that I got.
